What a family!!

Ella is so evidently kind and also has an interest in photography.

Aubrey is always aware of what her siblings may need and is willing to help.

Samuel is a gently fierce little boy with a smile that will warm you down to your toes.

William takes a tenacious approach to life and is full of silliness.

Joseph exudes joy and finds pure delight in his adoring siblings.

Katie and Nathan are raising a beautiful family and it’s so fun to be in their lives again!

Nathan met me when I was a toddler. My dad taught him how to play the guitar. His older sister babysat me.

A few years later, and in a different town, Katie become one of my favorite babysitters. I remember feeling sad when she left for college and no longer came to “play” when my parents had date night.

Fast forward to 2011, when I was in college at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN. Joshua and I, then dating, decided to visit my childhood church. The one where Nathan met me as a toddler. By this time, Katie and Nathan had met at college, graduated, gotten married, moved back to central Indiana, started their family (just 3 kids at the time), and there they were! Back at Heartland Ministries in Tipton, IN. Next to the blue house (the first house I remember living in). I was greeted with a big, warm smiles of recognition and Josh met them for the first time. We continued to attend Heartland for about a year and shared a few good conversations over delicious, home cooked dinners with them. (College kids are always down for home-cooked dinners!)

After graduating, Josh and I were married and moved out to Colorado. After 4 years in Colorado, I received a message from Katie saying they are moving to Colorado Springs and that they would also, please, like newborn photos for their newest addition who was due shortly after the move. Our lives were crossing paths again!

Since they’ve moved here, we have enjoyed several dinners, a fun game night with their oldest kids, and Nathan gave my brother his first full time job! Katie and Nathan are the type of people you want in your life. They are warm and inviting, deeply kind, and have the best kids. I am better for knowing these wonderful people and am humbled to document some small moments in their lives.
