Trese knew, from reading my website, that I am not a morning person and apologized for her early morning elopement. Of course, there are exceptional situations that help me perk up and enjoy a morning, and this was certainly one of those situations! I will happily wake up early for work if it involves elopements like this!
“Make sure you get some coffee!”
Besides seeing her soon-to-be-husband and getting married, this was about Trese’s only concern the morning of her and Grant’s elopement. And I mean that in the best way! She and Grant were both so calm and so happy. Their focus was on each other and the details that go into a wedding day just weren’t going to stress them or take away from the importance of what they were about to do.
They prepared all the details ahead of time. Trese added a special touch to her wedding dress that was a surprise to Grant. It was a piece from his mother’s wedding dress! She had delicious homemade biscotti and fresh coffee available for guests. We Skyped a week before so that we were all on the same page for the photography timeline. The wedding party and officiant arrived on time. They filled the ceremony with personal meaning and readings from close friends and family members.
I loved that the focus of all the details and plans were on Trese and Grant getting married. They weren’t putting on a show or a production for the benefit of others. This morning was clearly for Trese and Grant, and their friends and family were invited to celebrate with them in their joy and love.
Congratulations Trese and Grant! Thanks for giving me the honor of capturing your beautiful day. In your life together, may you challenge each other to become better versions of yourselves and to also better the lives of those around you. May you be an example of love and truth in the world! I wish you nothing but the best!
