The Hobson and Steinberg families are very special to me and Joshua because we have a unique friendship with EVERY person in their family! It helps that we live close. In 2014, we moved to the west side of Colorado Springs, just about a mile from the Hobson’s house. In 2015, they moved to the neighborhood across the street, and were slightly closer. 8 months later, Josh and I also moved to the neighborhood across the street and just a 2-minute walk from our front door to theirs.
We play music with Harlan, enjoy trying new drinks, and Josh and he are on the same Fantasty Football team. Melissa and Josh work together and literally see each other 6 days a week. Melissa and I have great conversations, help each other out since we’re neighbors, and she cuts my hair (thank youuuuuu). Melissa is also one of the few people who actually calls me. When my phone rings, I can bet it’s either Joshua, my mother, my sister, my mother-in-law, or Melissa!
Haleigh and Donovan were our first married-without-kids friends when we moved to Colorado. They quickly changed that status, but our lives and our friendship wouldn’t be as full without Emery and Domonic! Josh and Donovan are diehard Michigan fans and have therefore deeply mourned and celebrated together in ways I will never understand. Haleigh and I have perfect singing harmonies together and can just talk about life. When big life transitions and celebrations happen, they are always present and the first to know.
Bryce is always up to come over to our house and play nerdy board games or watch stupid movies with me and Josh. He reminds me in a lot of ways of my own brother, so we get along well.
Keatyn was the coolest middle-schooler we ever knew, and now she’s the coolest high schooler we’ve ever known. She also holds the distinction of being the first person I EVER photographed. She’s authentically herself, genuinely kind, and watches our kitty Merlin when we’re out of town. She can also stand up to and dish right back to Josh whatever he throws at her.
Josiah isn’t afraid to be honest and real with us either. He’s kind, thoughtful, creative, and always so helpful. I get the privilege of tutoring him from time-to-time. Josiah also gets lots of opportunities to just “hang with the guys.”
Hobsons and Steinbergs, thank you for the friendships! We love you!
