I have yet to meet a senior guy who is super excited about his senior photo session (I know you’re out there, guys!). Cory didn’t strike me as someone who had scrolled through Instagram and Pinterest, planning and thinking about his poses, outfits, and the perfect location. However, he came well dressed and was very polite. Cory was so easy to work with and totally nailed his portrait session.
It can be nerve-wracking in front of the camera (I still get nervous). You suddenly become very aware of your hands while simultaneously having no idea what to do with them. Your insecurities rise to the top and you can’t help but wonder what you look like through the lens. I get it. I think of these too when the lens is turned around on me.
I have good news for you! It’s MY job to help you feel comfortable, and to coach you through poses (including telling you what to do with your hands!). You don’t need to come prepared to the session. I promise to take care of you! Before Cory’s session started, sensing a small amount of discomfort, I promised him that the more he trusted me to follow my posing directions, the quicker I could move the session along for him. A win-win for both of us! As I said before, and as you can see in these images, he nailed it!
I hope you are enjoying the last few months of your senior year, Cory, and wish you all the best in this exciting time!
