Sara | Senior | Palmer Park

When I last photographed Sara and her family, my photography business was still a baby. Maybe a toddler. Either way, I was not at a stage where I had a website, Instagram, nor was I blogging any of my sessions. Just posted a few to Facebook, delivered their photos via Dropbox, and that was it! I don’t even remember how Breanna found me to be quite honest! At that point in my business, almost every client was someone I personally knew. I didn’t know Breanna, so I was super nervous and super excited to have a client “who didn’t know me.”

My work was not consistent at that point, but their session still holds up as a favorite from that year (I’ll include a few here at the end of this post!). They were such a kind and easy family to work with and I was thrilled to get an email from Breanna again this fall for Sara’s senior photos! Repeat clients are the best. I completely understand how using the same photographer is great for the client because they can build trust and know what result to expect, but it’s actually the same from my end, too! It’s great having repeat clients because the trust is developed, I also know what to expect, and I get to develop relationships and get to know people over time. I always feel an extra dose of gratitude for repeat clients, too, because it shows that they believe in the work I create, which just makes me want to work all the harder for them!

Sara was a delight to photograph again! She may have sniffled through her allergies, but she delivered flawless photos. Seriously, this girl maybe had all of two frames with her eyes closed. She also wanted flowers for her photos and I was excited because I had just stumbled across the perfect spot not even a week earlier, so I knew exactly where to go! And the sun cooperated at the very last minute! It had been gray and gloomy all day but the sun peeked out from behind the clouds just as her session started. I love the sun and will always find a way to work with it and around it, rather than not have it. It just makes everything glowy and beautiful. See for yourself in Sara’s senior portraits!
