A vineyard elopement is every bit as calm, dreamy, and romantic as it sounds! Paul & Katherine know themselves well enough to know they would enjoy traveling to an area of the country they love for an intimate wedding ceremony between just the two of them. They rented the guest house at Simi Winery where Katherine had her hair and make up done by local artist Victoria Guisti. After getting ready, they walked out near the winery behind the house to say their vows to one another.
Though photographed such an important moment in their lives and my husband helped ensure the marriage was legal, the day was truly just Paul & Katherine’s. The day centered on their marriage and their commitment to one another. I took photos of their vow exchange, but it was a private moment between the two of them. I even stood back and near an air conditioning unit that was running so that I couldn’t hear! However, as you can see in these photos, none of us need to hear their words to see how much they love one another.

Facetimes and phone calls before the ceremony!
Paul and Katherine had been a part for a few hours by this point and I snuck showing Paul a couple of these photos of Katherine. His response was, “Oh my goodness, I miss her. I just want to see her.”
Love the detail on her veil!
Paul and Katherine were married at Simi Winery at the guest house. They started their day off with a tour and tasting at the winery!
Katherine’s stunning bouquet and Paul’s boutonniere were provided by Papillon Floral Design. You can see more of their work on Instagram, too!
Time for the first look and Paul was definitely ready to see his bride!
The private exchange of vows. So many happy, sweet tears!
Josh did step in the for the exchange of rings. I still couldn’t hear what was being said, but obviously, Josh said something very Josh-like.
Husband and wife!
Time to sign the marriage license and toast to make it official!
Then we went on to their gorgeous portraits in the vineyard! Sunset is a gorgeous time of day and it also provided us with a little break from the heat of the day. I am sure Katherine was still quite warm in that big, gorgeous dress, but she was a trooper!
How gorgeous are these two?!
Katherine’s dress was PERFECT, and she said she found it in just 45 minutes.
When the neighbor comes out and tells you to come take a photo in front of his gigantic rocking chair…you take a wedding portrait in front of a giant rocking chair.
Congratulations, Paul & Katherine! We are so happy for you and excited for your big celebration later this year, too!
